Bayswater Skate and BMX Park
Design and construction of intermediate and advanced jump tracks, with pump track return, linked seamlessly with the skatepark
Three Chillies Design were engaged by MG Group, with collaborators Skate Sculpture and Ecoscape Australia to design a replacement facility for the very popular and much loved Bayswater Skatepark and dirt jumps (previously built by Three Chillies Design), which was to be demolished as part of the Metronet Project. With a longstanding reputation as the best Freestyle BMX facility in Perth, we were determined to produce the best compact jump and pump track possible.
The new Bayswater jump and pump track consists of an advanced and intermediate jump track with concrete jump lips, and a beginner pump track/return, all packed into a constrained space, integrating into the new skatepark in a logical way. The tracks are PolyPaved to 100mm below ground level, assuring a very low maintenance finish for the City, and a highly safe, predictable and stable track surface for riders. The installation of lighting infrastructure has significantly boosted the park’s after-dark usage and ensured its role as a secure and welcoming space for the community.
The tracks cater for beginner to advanced/expert riders, and are being used by all disciplines including BMX, MTB, scooters, and skateboarders.
