Wiluna Pump Track

Design and construction of a combined Pump and Jump Track, integrated with skatepark to provide a multi-use facility to the small regional town 12 hours north of Perth.

Three Chillies Design were engaged by Skate Sculpture to design and construct a 350m2 low maintenance pump track to complement their skatepark design in Wiluna, in central WA. The skate park and pump track were part of a Shire initiative to activate the underutilised town centre, and provide the community with a vibrant space that fosters playfulness and encourages physical activity. 

Three Chillies wanted to give the Wiluna community a combined pump and jump facility with considerable opportunity for riders to find their own line.  The track flows well both ways. Clockwide the track operates as a traditional jump track with beginner and intermediate features. Anticlockwise, the track turns into a combination pump jump track, where the PolyPaved lips enable further rider progression.  Being integrated fully into the skatepark design, means that riders can also find new lines between both spaces. Using locally sourced road base provides the pump track with a distinct red ochre finish, perfectly complementing the outback town and its iconic red dirt surroundings.
